My market of Nigeria, Africa’s biggest and fastest growing economy, for instance, is currently going through one of its worst recessions since 1987. So far, so good. But it’s not as straightforward as that. Paradoxically, while opportunities and growth are all around, the economic background is volatile and varied.

To answer this crucial question Weber Shandwick undertook a manual content analysis of the issues that mattered most (and least) to voters and the online press during the referendum, comparing the findings with online press during the same period. The approach used is uniquely rigorous, iterative and robust. It goes much deeper than counting hashtags or keywords and reveals fascinating dynamics in the development of this ‘big conversation’.

Stand-out Success at the 2016 EMEA SABREs

Weber Shandwick was named EMEA Digital Consultancy of the Year by The Holmes Report at the EMEA SABRE Awards held last week in Berlin. In addition, the Follow Felix campaign developed for Nestlé Purina Petcare by Weber Shandwick Team N in Germany won the Platinum SABRE Award for Best in Show. Clients and teams from Weber Shandwick and Prime were presented with a total of five Gold category honours and two In2 SABRE awards. Looking to the geographic consultancy categories, Weber Shandwick was named Iberian Consultancy of the Year and Prime, Nordic Consultancy of the Year.
