KFC gave figurehead Colonel Sanders a makeover to kick-start its update of 14,000 restaurants across 80 countries. Our task was to create a global ‘water cooler moment’ to get young people talking about the fast food chain’s rebranding.
We worked with technical experts to build a massive logo in the Nevada desert, near fabled extra-terrestrial site Area 51, that made KFC the first brand visible from space.
Amazing images of the Face from Space were picked up by media and reached billions as thousands of bloggers asked ‘have you seen this?’ The result: on launch day KFC’s sales increased globally.
