What’s Happening?
Weber Shandwick are looking for a talented Account Director to join our Public Affairs team in London. You’ll be joining a well-established team, where you’ll have the opportunity to collaborate across our outstanding corporate affairs team, as well as with Weber Shandwick’s UK and international network; while being guided and supported by some of the PR industry’s leading corporate communications professionals.
The ideal candidate will be able to draw upon experiences bringing knowledge and insight into a range of sectors and industries, combined with excellent client servicing and public affairs skills.
You’ll also need a strong understanding of how politics and parliament work, how digital fits into wider integrated communications programmes, as well as brilliant technical writing skills, time management and a keen eye for detail when it comes to managing project progress.
What will you be doing?
- Manage teams and work across a range of large corporate client accounts
- Research and analyse evolving policy, making recommendations to clients as required
- Policy and stakeholder analysis for our clients
- Managing political engagement programmes and stakeholder events
- Build trust and confidence with clients by consistently ensuring work is delivered on time and to an exceptional standard of quality
- Provide senior level counsel to clients, get involved in new business pitches and be a proactive team player
- Develop tactical plans and campaigns to meet client needs
- Work with specialist colleagues in the integrated media, corporate communications and strategy teams to deliver solutions for clients
- Participate in the creative development of campaigns for new and existing clients and supporting the team in researching and preparing new business opportunities
Who are you?
- Experienced account lead at an agency or with management experience in-house or in a political role
- With a passion for politics, you know how to make a strong case that will win the argument and have a track record of developing and delivering effective campaigns
- Unafraid to ask questions and to challenge clients’ and colleagues’ perspectives when necessary
- Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail
- Demonstrable experience in politics and communications. Your experience combines stakeholder engagement and policy insight
- An excellent political network with exceptional knowledge and understanding of how government and parliament operate.
- Able to digest complex information and understand how it relates to the political agenda
- A prolific consumer of news, you’re on top of current affairs, allowing you to help clients anticipate issues and opportunities

As an Associate Director, you’ll spearhead media planning and strategy efforts, collaborating with local clients and agency partners to deliver exceptional results. This is a hybrid role, requiring approximately three days per week in an IPG office in London, with flexibility to work from home based on the day’s demands. The role will require travel within the EMEA market, estimated at approximately 25% during the first year.
Role Detail:
Media Strategy & Planning
- Develop Strategic Media Plans: Craft and present tailored paid media strategies to meet client objectives across diverse industries. Partner closely with agency partners or direct clients to understand campaign goals, target audiences, and market challenges to deliver innovative and effective media plans and strategies.
- Market Insights: Leverage knowledge of the UK and EMEA media landscape to identify trends, opportunities, and best practices in paid media.
Support Market Expansion:
- Foster Collaboration: Develop strong relationships within the Weber Shandwick Collective and IPG EMEA agencies, positioning yourself and Resolute as the go-to paid media partner.
- Integrated Campaigns: Work closely with agency teams to align media strategies with broader marketing and communications initiatives, ensuring cohesive and effective campaigns.
- Thought Leadership: Represent Resolute in inter-agency meetings, workshops, and planning sessions, showcasing your expertise in paid media strategy and execution.
- Cross-Team Enablement: Educate and empower agency partners on Resolute’s media capabilities, helping them identify and communicate opportunities for paid media to their clients.
- Feedback Loop: Act as the liaison between Resolute and partner agencies, ensuring continuous improvement through shared insights and collaborative problem-solving.

Team Building & Leadership
- Contribute to the London team development: Serve as the foundational member of the London-based team, contributing to recruitment, onboarding, and training of future hires.
- Mentorship: Guide and mentor junior team members as the team expands, fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture.
- Cross-Regional Collaboration: Work seamlessly with the US Resolute team to ensure alignment and smooth execution of campaigns.
Client & Campaign Management
- Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with local agency partners and clients, serving as their trusted advisor and the key point of contact for paid media efforts.
- Vendor Partnerships: Collaborate with local vendor partners to align efforts and ensure seamless campaign delivery.
- Performance Reporting: Oversee the preparation and presentation of campaign performance reports, providing insights and actionable recommendations.
- Media Execution Oversight: Coordinate with the US team to ensure campaigns are executed on time and within budget while maintaining quality standards.
- Budget Management: Manage media budgets effectively, tracking spend and ensuring transparency with clients.
- Process Optimization: Identify and implement improvements to streamline process from local media planning to US based execution and reporting.
Qualifications
- Extensive paid media experience with strong client and team leadership qualities
- Experience buying and managing complex digital full-funnel campaigns
- Strong analytical skills and understanding of KPI’s and attribution
- Experience working with Google Campaign Manager or other relevant 3rd Party Ad Servers

A snapshot of the role:
Based in London and working as part of our in-house, integrated design team, you are a passionate, Midweight Designer who comes from an integrated agency background. You are a team player who prides themselves on elevating briefs, learning new skills and adapting to any creative brief that might come your way.
Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Produce best in-class design across a number of touch points, including OOH, press, social, global tool kits, pitch concepts, presentations and brand guidelines.
- Supporting and partnering with our creative team to craft work from the conceptual phase through to delivery.
- Have the ability to work on a number of projects and tasks simultaneously, ensuring deadlines and creative standards are always maintained.
- Be an effective communicator, who can present their design work internally.
- You are passionate about design as a discipline and will proactively champion innovation and craft.

What is the role?
We are looking for a mid-weight Strategist to join our Strategy team. The team’s purpose is to supercharge more creative and effective work.
