Celebrating national inclusion week
At Weber Shandwick last week, we celebrated National Inclusion Week, an initiative created by Inclusive Employers to foster conversations about inclusion and diversity within our network and prioritise their significance for our company’s future. This year’s theme, ‘Take Action, Make Impact,’ emphasised not just immediate actions but those that set positive standards and reshape our approach to diversity in workplaces.
In full agreement with the theme, we wanted to combine Weber Shandwick’s core values (curiosity, courage, inclusion and impact) to demonstrate how a more inclusive and empathetic workplace is completely aligned with who we are as a business.
Throughout the week, we curated a variety of events featuring captivating content presented by our teams across the network, as well as external speakers providing diverse perspectives on this crucial topic.
These events were designed to highlight the importance of acknowledging differences and challenging the status quo in the communications industry. This demonstrated our commitment not only to marking National Inclusion Week but also actively participating in shaping a more inclusive and impactful future for our company, our teams and our industry.
Helen Bennett, UK CEO Weber Shandwick said, ‘National Inclusion Week shows a shift from short-term discussions to a focus on long-term impact in marketing and communication. As we move forward, we are committed to continuing to embrace the power of diversity and inclusion to create lasting, positive change in our industry.’
