Celebrating Women's History Month
This month, we were proud to celebrate Women’s History Month and International Women’s Day with a series of meaningful moments across Weber Shandwick UK, led by our Women of Weber (WoW) community.
We began by marking the third anniversary of Weber Shandwick Women’s Health with a “Bring a Bloke” breakfast in London. As part of our Women’s Health Catalyst initiative, the event brought male colleagues into the conversation on advancing women’s health and highlighted the critical role of allyship in driving meaningful progress.
Featuring insights from Lee Chambers, performance psychologist and leading voice on allyship; Dr Tammy Boyce, senior consultant specialising in health equity and Weber Shandwick’s UK Chairman of Public Affairs, RH Jonathan Ashworth CBE, the discussion focused on moving from intent to action. A key theme emerged: addressing the longstanding “market inefficiency” in women’s health is not only a moral imperative, but a significant opportunity for innovation, investment and global health impact.
Our WoW community held two events to celebrate the month – the first being a themed drinks event designed to spark conversations around allyship, including themed drinks inspired by influential women in history.
For the second event, colleagues were invited to a fireside chat with Weber Shandwick’s UK President, Amy Garratt, who shared her reflections, insights and advice on advancing equality both professionally and personally. Both moments encouraged colleagues to reflect on the everyday actions that can contribute to creating a more inclusive workplace.
The month also shone a spotlight on WoW Connect, our EMEA-wide mentoring scheme, which continues to champion growth, support and opportunity across our network.
A huge thank you to everyone who contributed to making these moments so impactful.
