Weber Shandwick bolsters executive leadership team under EMEA CEO, Michael Frohlich

Weber Shandwick, one of the world’s leading global communications and marketing solutions firms, today announced it has appointed two leaders in key roles in the EMEA region. Charlotte Witte, previously Head of Global Client Strategies and former Head of Marketing Communications at Prime Weber Shandwick in Stockholm, has been promoted to the new role of Chief Client & Growth Officer, EMEA. Jane Douglas, a marketing and new business specialist of more than 20 years, joins as EVP, Marketing & Communications EMEA, a new role which encompasses business development, marketing and communications for the region. Douglas joins from advertising and communications agency Ogilvy UK. Witte & Douglas will both sit on the EMEA Executive Leadership Team.

“As we continue to build our EMEA leadership team and operations, we are reconfirming Weber’s commitment to being a global powerhouse, which is why I’m delighted to be bringing two world-class leaders into the executive team in the region,” said Frohlich. “As we progress and grow, we’ll continue to bring the powerful combination of global reach and deep, local cultural understanding and presence to our clients. This is the start of an exciting EMEA revolution of innovation and powerful growth. The leadership I have in Charlotte and Jane is outstanding and I look forward to driving forward with them to achieve sustainable growth for us and our clients.”

Based in Stockholm, Witte will focus on bringing Weber Shandwick’s integrated offering to clients across the region, deepening existing relationships and ensuring that the agency’s broadest offering is brought to bear to create ever better and more effective work. Witte will also be responsible for driving organic growth across the region. A regular awards juror and in-demand industry speaker, Witte’s client experience includes IKEA, Electrolux, Visit Sweden and Essity, with work she has produced for these clients having been recognised at Cannes, among other prestigious awards programs. Witte also appeared in The Holmes Report’s EMEA Innovator 25 list 2019. Witte most recently served as Head of Global Client Strategies, where she worked in an advisory capacity for key clients across all regions. Prior to this, Witte was Partner & Head of Marketing Communications at Prime, establishing and leading one of the most awarded teams ever at Cannes in the PR category. Prior to joining Prime in 2006, which was acquired by Weber Shandwick in 2014, Witte held senior marketing roles at the Institute for International Research and software company, Spectral.

“With our breadth and depth in all aspects of strategic communications, we are in a position to deliver a clear, integrated offering to support our clients in their growth and change plans,” Witte said. “I’m thrilled to be taking on this new role among the EMEA regional leadership to support our clients to better and more effective work and continued growth as we build our own world-class, integrated offer.”

Based in London, Douglas will drive ongoing marketing, communications and new business initiatives. With 22 years’ experience in agency marketing and new business, Douglas has worked at large network agencies including Grey, Lowe and most recently Ogilvy, where she held the position of Head of Marketing & New Business in the UK over the last three years. During her tenure, the agency went through a global re-positioning, which saw Ogilvy’s agencies in the UK move from multiple agency brands to become one agency brand – Ogilvy UK. Under her leadership, the Ogilvy UK marketing & new business team was named Oystercatchers’ New Business & Marketing Team of the Year in 2019.

Douglas said, “I’m excited to be joining Weber at a time when they are re-inventing, delivering the key capabilities clients are looking for in an agency partnership. The agency is building a stellar central team in EMEA and, with a clear focus on growth, I’m looking forward to partnering with Michael and Charlotte in delivering our hugely compelling story to market.”
