Weber Shandwick promotes Andrew Lopez to UK head of strategy

Weber Shandwick, the earned-first global communications agency, today announced it has promoted Andrew Lopez to UK Head of Strategy. In this role, Lopez will assume the responsibility of overseeing brand strategy across all business practices.

Having joined Weber Shandwick in April 2022 as SVP Brand Strategy, Lopez’s new position will involve delivering market-leading strategies for the agency’s diverse range of clients, while also making valuable contributions to new business pitches. He will help connect Weber Shandwick’s strategy teams across London, Manchester and Scotland and will play a key role in enhancing the integration among The Weber Shandwick Collective clients.

Based in London, Lopez will report to Weber Shandwick’s Chief Strategy Officer, EMEA, Gen Kobayashi.

“Working with Andrew is a true privilege. His exceptional talent and passion make him an impressive media professional, consistently delivering unparalleled work for clients. I look forward to our continued collaboration, as we aim to leverage thought-provoking fresh thinking,” said Kobayashi.

Before joining Weber Shandwick, Lopez spent nine years at Ogilvy, where he held the position of Head of Strategy for Ogilvy PR. He worked with clients including Bacardi, Mondelez and Google.

“Over the past year at Weber Shandwick, I’ve had the chance to come across numerous opportunities that allowed for personal and professional growth. I am excited about the next chapter as it brings an exceptional opportunity to lead a team of highly talented individuals. Together, we will build upon our track record with existing clients and actively seek out new partnerships and collaborations as we navigate the evolving era of earned media,” said Lopez.

This promotion closely follows Amy Garrett’s recent appointment as the new UK President at Weber Shandwick.
