Michael brings his leadership experience across the full marketing journey to Weber Shandwick to further transform and grow the largest global clients and EMEA region and enhance the global ecosystem.  

Previously as UK CEO, WW Executive Partner The Ogilvy Group, Michael led the business transformation to one integrated business, covering the full span of marketing services. He was recognised for this achievement by Campaign Magazine as Integrated Agency Head of the Year 2020. He was also most recently WPP Client Sponsor for IAG, across a WPP integrated marketing and creative services team.  

Under his stewardship, the Ogilvy PR EMEA network garnered several honours, including the 2017 Holmes Report Campaign of the Year, Cannes Lions and Holmes Report UK and EMEA Consultancy of the Year. 

Michael joined Bell Pottinger in 1996 and then Shine Communications in 1999 where he was appointed Managing Director in 2001. In 2003 he founded Resonate, that grew into a UK top 10, award-winning consumer consultancy and in 2007, became the Consumer division of Bell Pottinger. He then worked across various Chime Plc companies, before joining Ogilvy in 2012. 

Throughout his career, Michael has focused on communications strategies for global brands and represented former President Gorbachev and his legacy projects.

He contributed to The PR Handbook in 2016 and 2020, and joined the International Communications Consultancy Organisation (ICCO) Board of Management in 2014. Michael is a member of MGGB and has held leadership positions in industry organizations like the IPA’s 44 Club. He is a regular commentator in marketing trade press and has served on various awards show jury panels, including Cannes Lions.
