Sarita joined Weber Shandwick as a fresh-faced graduate in 2016. During her time at the agency, she has worn many different hats, developing cross-channel campaigns for clients across tech, B2B and corporate reputation practices. She currently leads the leadership communications offer in London and is the Vice Chair of Weber Shandwick’s Inclusion Board. Sarita’s favourite role is spearheading Weber Shandwick’s UK-wide pro bono programme, RISE, which seeks to supercharge the equity and representation of Black Owned businesses across the country. She was named a Silver Young Lion for the UK in 2017 and was listed in PRWeek’s 30 under 30 in 2022.

has taken you?

Wembley, for the England Vs Germany Euros 2022 match.

What’s the best piece of career advice you’ve
ever been given?

Always know your own worth and what you are bringing to the table.

Who inspires you and why?

I find the strength of female leadership at Weber Shandwick inspiring, both at a UK and global level. I’m fortunate to have so many role models to learn from at a senior level.

What does the ‘Era of Earned’ mean to you?

For me, the ‘Era of ‘Earned’ is about earning your license to operate. Given there are so many businesses, executives and opinion leaders out there, you need to demonstrate what makes your voice stand apart from the rest. Earning that attention is a true sign of effectiveness – and it’s what we’re all focused on delivering.

What is the best thing you have learnt since
joining Weber Shandwick?

So much! But above all else, I’ve learned the true importance of curiosity and collaboration.

What’s the best opportunity you have had since joining Weber Shandwick?

I was lucky enough to go to the Cannes Festival of Creativity in 2017. This was an amazing experience and huge opportunity. At the time I was new to the industry and unsure which direction I wanted to take my career. Being immersed in the wonder that is Cannes Lions opened my eyes to the campaigns I could aspire to create.

Describe a typical day at Weber Shandwick

I know people say this all the time, but it’s true – no two days are the same! One day I might be in all day meetings with a client, another I’ll be working with teams across Europe on a new business proposal…and then some of my favourite days are ‘desk days’, full of impromptu across-the-desk chats and somebody’s questionable playlist in the background.
