A snapshot of the role:
As our Manager in our Manchester team, you are more than a client-facing figure; you are an integrated media relations maestro. Your expertise in cross-channel campaign delivery and agency experience are vital in executing high-profile communications campaigns across multiple markets. You will be working with a diverse portfolio of clients, including some of the world’s largest corporations and organisations. This role offers you the opportunity to let your skills shine while working with the best clients in the world.
Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Building and maintaining strong media relationships to enhance brand visibility
- Managing multiple client programmes with a media-first approach
- Developing and implementing strategic media relations plans
- Overseeing campaign creation and management with a strong media relations focus
- Developing compelling client communications and key messages for media
- Leveraging media relationships for client benefit and campaign success
- Networking within the industry to stay ahead of trends and opportunities
- Overseeing evaluation and reporting on media relations success
- Manage client expectations, fulfilling KPIs and growing accounts
- Contribute to new and organic business opportunities
- Budget management
- Mentor and train junior team members

Ideal experience required:
- Previous agency experience with a strong focus on media relations
- Proven track record of successful media relations campaigns

- Ability to deliver campaigns across multiple platforms
- Intermediate level in account management duties including client reporting, measurement and evaluation and data analysis

What will you be doing?
- Builds client relationships by providing counsel to multiple clients, driving execution of tactical plans to ensure high-quality deliverables
- Successfully manages client expectations, team resources, and deliverables around major campaigns and projects
- Serves as an active participant in client meetings and presentations; crafts, presents, and executes integrated communications strategies for major campaigns
- Conducts and manages the flow of research and materials development necessary to analyse client issues
- Functions across disciplines with a knowledge of social media strategies and tactics
- Monitors media outlets for coverage of client and competitor news, leveraging digital and social outlets, a diverse set of influencers, etc
- Understands industry issues that directly and indirectly affect the client
- Composes media materials (press releases, pitch notes, client briefings, messaging documents, sample Q&A, proposals, bylined articles, supporting social content, etc.) and conducts media outreach
- Proofs and edits client-related documents
- Develops and builds relationships with media
- Brainstorms and brings to life compelling ideas for clients and media
- Leads small teams to conduct pressing research on a wide range of issues, reviews and prepares executive summaries and/or analyses of information into strategic and actionable recommendations.
Who are you?
- Already working as a Senior Account Executive or Account Manager in a PR agency
- Proven experience within media relations planning for consumer clients
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent project management and organisational skills
- Ability to translate client needs into effective project plans
- Strong collaboration skills
- Strong negotiation and persuasion abilities
- Ability to deliver campaigns across multiple platforms
- Ability to effectively build external relationships.

Weber Shandwick Scotland are headquartered in Glasgow and have offices in Edinburgh and Aberdeen. This role can be based from any of these 3 offices on a hybrid model with two days per week in the office. What will you be doing?
- Developing strong media relationships, proactively identifying and driving media opportunities which support the client’s business objectives
- Meet with key media contacts face to face to form relationships and your little black book and feedback key information
- Building relationships with influencers and working across influencer activation campaigns, as well as bigger integrated campaigns
- Manage status reports, trackers and media lists for client accounts
- Generate story ideas, and play an active role in brainstorming sessions
- Staff client events, managing onsite media and influencers, contributing to event management materials like event bibles and guest lists
- Contribute to client meetings, bringing your updates to internal and external calls and meetings
- Demonstrating a solutions-first mindset, exploring multiple approaches when faced with a challenge

Ideal Experience Required:
- Experience working on PR campaigns with national consumer brands
