Project: Bringing Pinterest to the heart of London retail

Bringing Pinterest to the heart of London retail

We partnered with Pinterest to open its new London office on Oxford Circus with a high-profile activation showing how technology platforms can support British retail – and helping raise awareness of the company’s investment among key political stakeholders.

01The Challenge

Pinterest’s new London office on Oxford Circus was an opportunity to show how the platform could support British retail, as people move from discovering branded content online to shopping in physical stores. The opening also needed to demonstrate the significance of Pinterest’s investment in Oxford Circus as a major retail destination, while attracting UK political stakeholder and media attention.

02The Solution

We used the Mayor of London’s planned pedestrianisation of Oxford Street as a timely hook, inviting Mayor Sadiq Khan to the opening. We secured an Evening Standard online exclusive with the Mayor and Pinterest’s Vice President of International, Gregory Owens, then supported the visit with social content and follow-up media outreach.

03The Impact

The Evening Standard interview ran online the following day. Video and visual content shared by the Mayor’s team gained tens of thousands of views across X, LinkedIn and Instagram. City A.M. also covered the opening in its Notebook section, including Pinterest’s financial results and its positive role in supporting British retail.
